Militarization: Values ​​and patterns of action gradually penetrate civil society and state institutions. The more extensive militarization becomes, the more military needs and militaristic assumptions are normalized, until they are perceived as self-evident and taken for granted.

Discourses about courage, strength, honor, masculinity, femininity, merit, health, marriage, violence and identity, as well as military values ​​such as hierarchy, discipline and strategy, spread to civilian institutions, are normalized and become part of daily life.

Can militarization processes limit democracy by placing certain issues outside the public debate, with reference to national security interests?
