Wind In My Ears

Quartet in three movements for woodwind – oboe, clarinet, bassoon, bass clarinet – 1996
1996-05-24 Christinae Church, Göteborg – first performance

The piece is built around the contrast between short and long. The first movement is short with essentially long note values; the last one is also short but with short notes. The center movement is long with a mixture of both short and long tones.
There is a theme that is varied through the piece – a kind of variation work in three movements.
The title relates to the nature of the instruments.
